Questions interviewers nearly always ask!

  • Why do you want this position?

  • Why do you think we should hire you?

  • Do you have any questions about our company/agency?
(Be prepared! Do your company/agency research beforehand!)

  • What is your greatest accomplishment?

  • Why do you want to work for our company/agency?

  • What is your greatest failure?

  • What are your weaknesses?

  • What are your strengths?

  • Tell us about your last major work project?

  • Could you explain your management style a little bit?
    (For managers and supervisors!)

  • (Hint: never admit to a weakness other than ie. "working until a task is completed" or "being a perfectionist."

    Effective Personal Presentation includes Preparation!

  • Selection of appropriate clothing-- Basic, well-cut, classic (no fads).

  • Ensure clothing is in good repair.
ie. No rips, missing buttons, clean, no stains and try on prior to the actual date to ensure a proper fit.

** Reader's Tip: Always dress for the next higher position, not the one you are going for.

  • Role-play with a friend or family member by having questions presented to you.
(Hint: Can facilitate confidence and have answers "on the tip of your tonque.")

  • Practice posture, eye contact, handshake with a friend.

  • Prior to the day of the interview make every effort to locate the correct building and survey the amount of parking spaces as well as proximity to the building.

  • Allowing for sufficient time to arrive at the actual office will boost confidence level and ensure you will be a calm and self-assured job applicant!

  • Good Luck!
